FOOD BANKS

Donations needed to help hungry neighbors

The acrobatic, high-energy dolphin must spend most of its time hunting to survive. But when a pod member is sick or injured, others will set aside their own needs to come to its rescue. A pair of dolphins, one on each side, will stay beside it, lifting it to the surface to breathe each breath — sometimes for days at a time — until it recovers the strength to swim again for itself.

The commitment of community in helping your hungry neighbors in need makes all this kind of difference — health, hope and life. We kindly ask that you remember the Sky Valley Food Bank, or your local food bank, this fall and holiday season as we try to meet the needs of your struggling neighbors. The number of times in one month we have provided food is up to 5,586 — at 10 meals each time!

Food banks can purchase up to three times as much food because of our bulk buying power. Your dollars help us stretch the dollar up to three times over retail purchases, and we can purchase the type of foods that are needed.

Would you spread the word and do what you can to come alongside the ones who are struggling? Call 360-794-7959 for information on how to have a successful drive, or visit www.svfoodbank.org. Please feel free to call us to get the name and number of your local food bank!
