Edmonds man killed when his van was sandwiched between two pickups EDMONDS – A 63-year-old Edmonds man died this morning after his van became sandwiched between two pickup trucks at a traffic light.The man stopped at the traffic light on eastbound 220th Street SW at 76th Avenue W. about 9:30 this morning, Edmonds police Sgt. Mike Blackburn said. As he was waiting, a pickup truck smashed into the back of his van, crunching it into another pickup truck in front of him. The driver of the van was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died from his injuries, Blackburn said. The driver of the pickup, a 68-year-old Edmonds man, also was taken to Harborview with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. The driver of the other pickup suffered minor injuries. The King County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to perform an autopsy. Police are investigating the incident, Blackburn said. |
