Everett police are searching for Harold (Hal) Ersett Higgins, 97, who was reported missing from his assisted living home in Everett today.

Higgins is believed to have wandered off from the home in the 3900 block of Colby Avenue at about 7 a.m., police said.

Higgins is described as about 5 feet 6, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair, balding on top. It’s unknown what he was wearing when he left, though he typically wears a coat and hat when he goes out. He is likely walking with a brown walking cane and bent over slightly at the waist.

Higgins does not typically leave his home for long periods of time so his absence is considered out of character. He is familiar with the bus system and may have ridden a bus at some point during the day. A Snohomish County Search and Rescue team will assist in the search, according to Everett police.

Anyone with information about Higgins is asked to call 911 or the Everett Police Department tip line at 425- 257-8450.
