Couple pleads guilty in Gold Bar puppy mill case

GOLD BAR – A Gold Bar-area couple on Friday pleaded guilty to six counts each of felony animal cruelty stemming from the January raid that rescued more than 150 dogs.

Jason and Serenna Larsen both entered the guilty pleas in Snohomish County Superior Court.

They face a maximum sentence of one behind bars. Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 25.

The rescued dogs, mostly small breeds, were covered with feces. Several dead dogs were found in the raid, including the remains of puppies in the freezer.

Officials believe the dogs were part of a multimillion-dollar puppy mill operation.
