Holiday closures

Happy Thanksgiving. Here are some things that are closed today or otherwise affected by the holiday.

Government: Federal, state and local offices are closed.

Schools: Closed.

Post offices: Closed, although Express Mail service continues.

Commerce: Most businesses and banks are closed. Some retail stores are open.

Liquor stores: All state-run liquor stores are closed.

Transportation: Everett Transit and Community Transit are on Sunday schedules.

Ferries: Edmonds-Kingston and Mukilteo-Clinton routes are on a holiday schedule.

Free holiday dinners: There will be free meals offered today at the following locations:

Edmonds: 11 a.m., 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., Westgate Chapel, 22901 Edmonds Way.

Everett: New Life Ministries, 4 and 5:30 p.m., 2532 Virginia Ave.; Salvation Army Everett Corps, noon to 2 p.m., 2525 Rucker Ave.; Ray of Hope Mission, 8 to 11 a.m., 2917 Hewitt Ave., No. C.

Marysville: 1 to 3 p.m., Allen Creek Community Church, 7314 44th Ave. NE.

Sultan: 1 to 4 p.m., Sky Valley Community Resource Center, 617 First St.



Names sought for memorial: Mill Creek is accepting veterans' names for engraving on the new Veterans Memorial until March 31. The cost of engraving will be between $75 and $100 per veteran. For more information, call 425-745-1891.
