Actor Tim Allen is flying about the country, sans his Santa outfit, touting his debut as a director for a feature film, “Crazy on the Outside.”

Allen’s “Stand Up and Show It” comedy act precedes an advance screening of the movie at the Regal Meridian 16 theater at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The movie will be released nationwide on Jan. 8.

Allen stars (of course) in the film as a newly released prisoner trying to get his life back. He tries to date his parole officer (Jeanne Triplehorn) and work around his nutty sister (Sigourney Weaver).

“Crazy” also stars Ray Liotta, J.K. Simmons, Julie Bowen and Kelsey Grammer.

Tickets for the comedy act and screening are $20, available at the box office, 1501 Seventh Ave., Seattle, or by calling 206-223-9600.
