Sultan: New option to pay city bills online
Sultan residents can now save on stamps by paying their city bills online or over the phone.
The new method expands payment options. Residents can still make payments by visiting City Hall in person, depositing payments at the community center drop box, or mailing their checks.
The city cannot pay transaction fees. To cover the costs, a $2 convenience fee is applied to checking and savings payments and a 4.167 percent online convenience fee is applied to debit and credit card payments.

Gold Bar: Bake sale aids history museum
The Gold Bar Historical Society will hold its annual bake sale on Saturday to raise money for its museum. The sale is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park shelter on U.S. 2 and Fifth Street.

Island County: Two commissioners needed
The Island County Board of Commissioners is seeking volunteers to serve in two spots on the Island County Planning Commission.
One position represents Camano Island and north Whidbey Island. The other open position represents south and central Whidbey Island.
The commission terms run until Jan. 2, 2014. Deadline to apply is Dec. 28.

Everett: Holiday cookies and crafts
A holiday bazaar and bake sale is planned for 1:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Silver Firs Elementary School, 5909 146th Place, SE, Everett. The event will feature crafts, vendors, baked goods and an espresso stand plus hourly door prize drawings.

Lake Stevens: City looking for volunteers
The city of Lake Stevens has extended the deadline for application for vacancies on several city boards and commissions to Dec. 31. The city has openings on its Park Board, Planning Commission and Arts Commission. The all-volunteer boards advise the City Council on matters related to these subjects.

Lynnwood: Holidy toy donations needed
The Lynnwood Police Department has joined with the South Snohomish County Toy Shop to benefit local families in need for the holidays.
Drop off new, unwrapped toys at the Holiday Toy Shop bin in the Lynnwood Police Department lobby, 19321 44th Ave. W. The deadline for donations is Dec. 11 and the event is on Dec. 12. Make checks payable to the “SSCH Toy Shop.”
