    Shorecrest dominates jamboree

SHORELINE — Shorecrest beat the Lions 24-17 in the 10-minute minigame to kick off the night and then dispatched King’s 18-8 to finish the night in a three-team jamboree Monday night at King’s High School.

King’s dropped a 20-8 decision to Lakeside in the second game. King’s coach Dan Taylor as well as Lakeside coach Jason Jones made their respective debuts.

Shorcrest’s Brianne Lasconia led all scorers with 17 points in the two games, including 10 of her team’s 18 against King’s. Knights players Makenzie Taylor and Ali McConaughey both scored a basket in each game to lead the way for King’s.

“Shorecrest has some freshman that are pretty talented,” Taylor said.

Despite scoring 16 points combined in the two games, Taylor was pleased with the opportunity for his girls to get the jitters out before the season begins for real on Thursday.

“I was encouraged,” Taylor said. “We have a great group of girls. I’m excited about the rest of the season.

Shorecrest opens its season tonight, when it hosts Everett.
