Is Obama Spock-like? It's highly logical

Some “Star Trek” fans say President Barack Obama’s personal qualities, such as his cool demeanor and intense interest in science, remind them of Mr. Spock.

And we have to admit, there is something Spock-like about Obama — starting with his big ears. Alas, if only he could do the Vulcan nerve pinch on Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Sanctimony.

Do things their way: A Bothell High School teacher has compiled a list of parenting tips from teenagers. Turns out the No. 1 thing teens need from their parents is discipline.

As in, the discipline not to throttle your teen when he/she gives you that deeply annoying eye roll, heavy sigh and “Whatever” combo.

Sickos: Worried about a pandemic’s effects on their bottom line, corporate America has gone to great lengths to keep swine flu out of the workplace (Page A6).

They’ve placed hand sanitizer at every desk, developed work-at-home plans and implored employees to wash their hands. And if that doesn’t work, they’ll cut their risk further by laying off another 430,000 potential flu bug carriers.
