Everett: Church gives seniors Christmas gift

Everett seniors are invited to attend a special event planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 1616 Pacific Ave.

The church’s senior adult ministries team plans carols, a dramatic presentation, a bell choir and other special music. The event is free.

Edmonds: Open house at train station

The Amtrak Edmonds station, 211 Railroad Ave., will host its annual holiday open house from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to welcome the holiday season and express appreciation to passengers, neighbors and friends.

The event includes giveaways, displays and guest appearances.

Mill Creek: Learn about senior center

Join other seniors for a free social and resource fair from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Mill Creek Senior Center, 15720 Main St., adjacent to City Hall, on Wednesday.

Learn about the center’s programs, including fitness and health classes and day trips.

Mountlake Terrace: Tree lighting is Friday

The city’s annual tree lighting ceremony will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave. W. The program features caroling, refreshments and a visit from Santa.

The “tree” is actually a frame constructed with more than 1,800 energy-saving lights placed on top of the city’s water tower. The event is free.

Mukilteo: New trail celebration Saturday

The public is invited to join volunteers who worked on the new Mukilteo Lane trailhead to celebrate its completion from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, between Mukilteo Lane and Fifth Street. Refreshments will be served.

Gold Bar: Santa Claus will visit tree lighting

Children can tell Santa Claus what they want for Christmas at the city’s 7 p.m. Friday tree lighting ceremony.

The annual event will take place at Orchard Park, at the corner of Fifth Street and Orchard Avenue.

Christmas carolers will perform before the tree lighting, and parents will be able to sip hot chocolate, cider or coffee as their kids meet with Santa.
