Battle royale: Snuggie versus Slanket

Posted at 11:47 am by Sarah Jackson

We don't have scientific evidence or even a Business Week story to prove it, but The Snuggie: “The Blanket That Has Sleeves!” may be the hottest Christmas gift ever.

You can hardly beat the $15 price point. It's sold everywhere, even at some gas stations. And it's a pop culture phenomenon, thanks to the “30 Rock” promotion of its top competitor, the pricier Slanket.

Yes, the Slanket is a real thing. There are other competitors, too, including the, ahem, Freedom Blanket and the Blankoat. See them in all their cozy glory with photos and side-by-side test drives at Gizmodo.

Also, can we all just acknowledge that the name snuggie is oddly similar to the term snuggy, which means something totally different?

Send me your stories of Snuggies and Slankets. I want to know if they are worth all the hype.
