Firefighters battle a blaze this morning in Everett.

EVERETT -- Fire swept through an Everett home early today, injuring two people.

About 30 firefighters from Everett Fire Department converged on the home in the 2100 block of Summit Avenue after a 6:26 a.m. emergency call, Everett police spokeswoman Kate Reardon said.

There were four adults inside the home when the blaze erupted. Two people were taken to a local hospital with injures; two others escaped unharmed.

Fire crews were unable to attack the flames from inside the structure. The blaze was visible from I-5 and sent up a thick column of smoke.
