Fire destroyed an Everett home Wednesday morning in a blaze that could be seen from I-5 during the morning commute.
Crews were dispatched around 6:30 a.m. to a home in the 2100 block of Summit Avenue, Everett Fire Department Assistant Chief Glen Martinsen said.
Flames were shooting from the windows of the two-story home when crews arrived, he said. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading.
All four people who lived in the home escaped.
Three people were taken to a local hospital. Two of the injured were later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, the region’s trauma center. Their condition wasn’t immediately known, Martinsen said.
The Snohomish County Red Cross responded to provide emergency support for the displaced.
The cause of the fire and the cost of damage remain under investigation.
