Is Walter Jones retiring via Twitter?

Posted at 12:21 pm by John Boyle

When Seahawks tackle Walter Jones went on IR earlier this season, he talked about wanting to come back and play again, saying “I still want to play this game.”

But comments on his twitter page today indicate he may be ready to call it a career.

He earlier posted a message that read “I think I have had a great run at this thing the NFL and the Seahawks and the fans [have] been great to me.”

Then just a few minutes ago, he followed that with “There is no easy way to give something that you have been doing for [a] long time.”

UPDATE
One thing I should have mentioned when I posted this earlier today is that Jones has been known to enjoy messing with people a little bit on Twitter, so while the above posts might be hinting at a big decision, they could also just be his way of having fun with some people. Back in Sept. he tweeted about facing a big decision in his life, then later admitted he was just trying to decide what move to see.
