UPDATE: The Herald's Fall 2009 All-Area Teams: Football coming on Tuesday

Posted at 5:38 pm by Mike Cane, Herald Writer

UPDATE: Our All-Area Football Teams are now scheduled to appear in The Herald on Tuesday (not Sunday).

    *****

Fall sports officially wrap up this weekend with the Gridiron Classic state football championships at the Tacoma Dome.

None of our local teams are involved but I'm still curious to see how high-profile squads (like 4A Skyline, 3A Bellevue and 2A Lynden) perform.

In the meantime, I'm finishing stories about our All-Area Football Players of the Year. As in the past, we picked an Offensive Player of the Year and a Defensive Player of the Year, based on feedback from local coaches and first-hand observation.

I won't reveal the two football POYs — you can read about them in The Herald on Tuesday — but here are a couple hints: The offensive player is a running back and the defensive player is a Division-I recruit.

In case you missed the other fall All-Area Teams we already published, here you go.
