In appreciation of beautiful, tiny things

Posted at 1:09 pm

Just because it's minuscule doesn't mean it's not glorious. Take a look at this online museum and you'll understand. The Micropolitan Museum is a glorious tribute to the tiny things in our world.

Sadly, the way the site is set up, I can't link to individual images. Be sure to check out the Algae Archive within the Freshwater section. The diatoms within both the Marine and Freshwater section of the site are equally fascinating and beautiful.

If you enjoy the lovely tiny things, you might also enjoy these photos. It's a stunning set of macro photos of flowers. Of course, these are on a much larger scale than your average diatom, but stunning in their simple beauty.
