Man arrested in fatal shooting of brother ARLINGTON — A dispute over cattle may have led an Arlington-area man to fatally shoot his older brother.Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested a man, 47, for investigation of second-degree murder. Deputies were summoned to the 16200 block of Grant Creek Road. The brothers share the property with other family members and raised cattle on the land. Paramedics found the man dead at the scene. Detectives learned that the brothers lived in separate houses on the several acres owned by their mother, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said. The older brother allegedly went to the younger brother’s house to talk to him about moving some cattle from one part of the property to another, Hover said. The discussion led to a fight between the men. The younger brother allegedly went to his bedroom and retrieved a rifle. Detectives believe he first fired a shot into the ceiling and then shot his brother, Hover said. The younger brother was booked into jail. He is expected to appear in court this afternoon for a bail hearing. The name of the victim has not been released. |

20 years ago we worked together on third shift at Boeing. I remember John had an incredible sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. He showed me his property and we walked up in the hills to an overlook to a small lake that almost no one knows about. John was a good man and it's a shame what happend.
