The uninvited guests

Guess who's not supposed to be at dinner? A review of Secret Service records shows a lengthy list of security breaches. At least eight times since 1980 intruders have reached the president or someone else under the service's protection, four of those times by the same man.

But each of those four times Vice President Joe Biden was simply escorted back to his office.

Dramatic hamster: Federal regulators say that despite a warning from a consumer safety group, Zhu Zhu Pets, the robotic hamsters that are a popular choice for holiday gifts, do not violate safety standards.

Just to be on the safe side, adults and children should treat the robotic hamsters like the real thing and not put them in their mouths.

We'll throw in the barf bags for free: SpaceShipTwo, the spacecraft that will carry tourists into space as early as 2011, was shown for the first time Monday. The 2 1/2 hour rides, which promise 5 minutes of weightlessness, will only set you back $200,000.

If you're looking for something a little more affordable for the thrill seeker in your family, for $10 The Buzz will strap riders down blindfolded in the back of his pickup and hit the Forest Service roads in the Cascades.
