PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Schmidt gets Stanwood off to a fast start EVERETT — Kale Schmidt knocked down all three of his 3-point attempts and shot 5-for-6 overall for 13 points in the first quarter of Stanwood's Wesco North opener against Everett.Schmidt totaled 18 points on the night to lead Stanwood to a 79-47 victory. “He came out real strong shooting the ball,” Everett head coach Aaron Nations said. Zack Johnson also chipped in 18 points for the Spartans, shooting 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. “In the first half if it wasn't (Schmidt) it was Johnson,” Nations said.
