Inslee gets a GOP foe

Posted at 10:56 am by Jerry Cornfield

James Watkins, an entrepreneur and former Microsoft manager, has launched a campaign to unseat Democratic U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee in 2010.

“We're at a moment of clarity in our country. We the People are paying attention and following our representatives' votes very carefully,” Watkins said in a prepared statement issued Wednesday.

“We won't let professional politicians like Congressman Inslee get away with voting for massive spending, bigger government and less freedom – and then come home and tell voters they're looking out for us,” he said.

For more on Watkins, go here.

Inslee faced Republican Larry Ishmael in 2006 and 2008 and defeated him by a two-to-one margin both times.

two party system
Our political system relies on a two-party system. When one party has ultimate power, bad things happen without checks and balances.

Comments above show both ends of the spectrum. I don't know if I disagree with either, except, right now, in Washington, D.C. and Olympia, the one party system isn't working. The Republican ideas are being shut out of the process. It takes two parties for the country and state to represent all of us.

Kudos for the opponent and hopefully, the Republican is a good candidate and wins or makes Inslee a better representative legislator. Either outcome is fine by me.

Vote Jay Inslee!!
The LAST thing this country needs is another Republican. Did we learn nothing from the last administration?? Are we going to fail to learn from that past??? Wake up people...The GOP doesnt care about you...not unless you are wealthy and affluent. It's time to wash away the greed and corruption of the GOP.....Vote DEMOCRAT!! Keep Jay Inslee where he can continue to do what is right and work for the people not the corporation

Re: Vote Jay Inslee!!
The last thing you want is a demo controling Congress and the senate! Hollywood is 99% elite democratic? Michelle Hall get your head out of the ... Look at what the dems have done to take down this country in 10 months. More than Bush did in 8 years. I agree Bush was bad but this administration is bad for Business. I know what sociialism is, Do you? It's small business that's built this country so why tax them out of business. Look at liberal Oregon, 20 years ago they had 14 Fortune 500 companies now they have 1 (Nike). If Phil Knight didn't live there they'd have NONE!. How do you look out for the "PEOPLE" if they don't have companies to work for because the govenment ran they out of business! I guess you think we can ALL work for the Government huh? I don't think so, China is moving to capitalism while we're moving towards socialism, go figure...

It's about time for REAL Change we can Take to the Bank
It's about time... We should have term limits for these "LIFETIME" politician anyway. All they do is spend OUR taxes and spend they do, like there's no tomorrow. Less Government is what this Country needs. Government is NOT the solution, Government is the PROBLEM. We're NOT a socialist Country but the DEMS are heading us in that direction. The country voted for change in the last election but this isn't the change we need. If James is a true conservation and has conservative values (and not many republician do) than he's got my vote.
