Navy Band plans free Christmas concert in Everett

Here’s a concert to help you get into the Christmas spirit.
The Navy Band Northwest will perform in the “Spirit of the Season” at 2 p.m. Sunday at Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.
The concert will feature special performances by Navy Band Northwest’s Olympic brass choir, its contemporary ensemble and the big band.
This concert is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. No tickets are required, but you can pick up free tickets from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and Saturday at the Everett Performing Arts Center box office to assure a seat.
The U.S. Marine Corps will accept donations to support the Toys for Tots program, and Santa Claus is expected to make a special appearance.
The mission of Navy Band Northwest is to provide musical support for official Navy events and Navy recruiting efforts. The band serves a public relations function.
