NBA Roundup: Trail Blazers beat Sacramento

PORTLAND, Ore. — LaMarcus Aldridge hit the go-ahead layup despite a bum ankle and the Portland Trail Blazers snapped a two-game skid with a 95-88 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.

Aldridge finished with 25 points and nine rebounds. He pulled the Blazers to 81-all midway through the final quarter with an alley-oop layup.

But Portland was unable to pull ahead until Aldridge’s layup made it 86-85 with 3:02 left. Aldridge went into the game with a sore right ankle.

Aldridge hit yet another layup and added a free throw to give Portland an 89-85 cushion with 1:37 left.

Tyreke Evans had 19 points and Thompson added 18 for the Kings, who lost their seventh straight on the road.

Brandon Roy had 25 points and a season-high 10 assists for Portland.

Lakers 96, Bulls 87

CHICAGO — Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 42 points, and Los Angeles won for the 12th time in 13 games, beating Chicago.

Cavaliers 99, Nets 89

CLEVELAND — LeBron James had 23 points, six rebounds and seven assists and Cleveland beat New Jersey.

Heat 115, Raptors 95

MIAMI — Michael Beasley tied his career high with 28 points, Dwyane Wade added 19 while sitting out the entire fourth quarter and Miami won at home for the first time in more than three weeks.

Bobcats 94, Knicks 87

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Stephen Jackson scored 24 points and keyed Charlotte’s 15-2 run to end the game and stop New York’s four-game winning streak.

Rockets 107, Pistons 96

HOUSTON — Tracy McGrady sank a 3-pointer in his season debut, Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks scored 23 points apiece and Houston snapped Detroit’s five-game winning streak.

Suns 116, Spurs 104

PHOENIX — Amare Stoudemire had 28 points and 14 rebounds and reserve Goran Dragic contributed a career-high 18 points as Phoenix improved to 9-0 at home.

Tim Duncan had a season-high 34 points and 14 rebounds for San Antonio (12-10), and Roger Mason had a season-high 19 points, including a season-high five 3-pointers.

The Suns (17-8) made 11-of-16 3-points attempts while shooting 52 percent from the field. Steve Nash, the NBA assists leader, had 25 points and 13 assists with his fourth straight 20-point game. Nash also drew four offensive fouls.
