Theresa Rebeck will talk about her writing success
Theresa Rebeck is as versatile a writer as she is prolific.
She’s written for television, film and theater. She’s had her plays produced in New York, her writing nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and her movie and television collaborations seen by millions.
During “An Evening With Theresa Rebeck,” the author will talk about her life as a successful writer. Also, local artists Jason Dittmer, Deana Duncan, Eric Mulholland and Vito Zingarelli will read from Rebeck’s plays “Mauritius” and “The Understudy.”
In addition to those plays, Rebeck’s past theater productions include “The Scene,” “The Water’s Edge,” “Loose Knit,” “The Family of Mann” and “Spike Heels.” The co-written work, “Omnium Gatherum, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2003.
Her produced feature films include “Harriet the Spy” and “Gossip.”
Rebeck’s first book, “Three Girls and Their Brother,” a tale about “it” girls in New York City, won the 2009 Alex Award as one of the “10 best books of the year that appeal to teen audiences.”
