Paddington, Paddington, Paddington.

Cascade Symphony Orchestra, along with narrator and Edmonds resident Dave Dolacky, will bring the adventures of the children’s book character Paddington Bear to life through music at 3 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N.

But this will be more than just a listening musical experience.

Before and after the show, guests are welcome to admire and even to try out strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments set up as a musical “petting zoo.” Some children may also win private music lessons.

Orchestra manager Roberta McBride said “Paddington Bear’s First Concert” will last about an hour, with an opportunity to stand and stretch after the first piece, but no formal intermission.

“The music ... is composed by Herbert Chappell and is a delightful mix of fun and humor,” she said.

She said the orchestra’s 50 musicians won’t be the only ones providing music on Saturday. The performance also will feature 11-year-old pianist Gene Pak, playing a Mozart concerto.
