Snohomish girl assaulted with tire iron; female suspect sought

SNOHOMISH — A girl here was struck in the head with a tire iron Sunday morning, and police are looking for the suspect.

The girl, 17, was walking with another teen in the 900 block of Pine Avenue about 2:30 a.m. when a car pulled alongside the pair, Snohomish police Cmdr. Fred Havener said. A young woman was in the car with the driver, a man.

Words were exchanged between the two parties, Havener said. Then the young woman in the car got a tire iron and hit the girl in the head.

The girl told police she didn’t know the woman in the car.

The girl was taken to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.

The suspect is described as white, in her late teens with blond hair. She was seen wearing a black jacket, a tank top and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information is asked to call officer David Fontenot at 360-568-0888.
