Western Washington snow (!) won’t stick, forecasters say

SEATTLE — Some cool, unsettled weather has brought light snow showers to parts of Western Washington, but the National Weather Service says it won’t accumulate or stick around.

Meteorologist Johnny Burg in the Seattle office said it had reports of snow showers today from Whidbey Island, Kitsap County, Tacoma and Puyallup.

Forecasters expect the snow showers could continue through this afternoon in the Western Washington lowlands with low temperatures tonight falling into the mid-20s to lower 30s. Burg says tonight’s likely to be the coldest night of the week.

In the Cascades, no more than an inch or two of snow is expected, so it won’t add significantly to the snowpack.
