Stealth's Duch named to Team Canada
Rhys Duch of the Washington Stealth has been named to Team Canada's final 24-man roster for the 2010 World Field Lacrosse Championships. The Stealth announced Duch's selection Tuesday.
The world championships are scheduled for July 10-24 in Manchester, England. Team Canada is the defending gold-medal winner.
Duch, 23-year-old forward from Victoria, B.C., will be making his first appearance at the world championships. He is the reigning National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Year after setting a rookie scoring record with 89 points in 2009. In nine games this season, Duch has 41 points (15 goals, 26 assists).
Duch played his collegiate lacrosse at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, N.Y. He was a two-time all-conference selection and in his senior season ranked fifth nationally in assists with an average of two per game.
Duch's Stealth teammates Paul Rabil and Eric Martin are among the 24 players scheduled to represent the U.S. at the world championships.
