Ingraham crew due in Everett today
EVERETT The 180-member crew of the USS Ingraham is expected to return to Everett early today.
Families and friends will be waiting at Naval Station Everett when the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate ties up to the pier around 10 a.m.
The Ingraham crew is returning to its homeport after a seven-month deployment. In addition to the sailors on board, Ingraham is scheduled to arrive with about 30 family members who embarked with the crew in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
The Ingrahams latest missions included disaster relief in Samoa, piracy and drug smuggling deterrence, escort of Iraqi patrol ships, public relations stops in the Pacific and security operations in the Red Sea.
Despite the close bonds that are formed on such a long deployment, family is the first thing on my mind now that we are homeward bound, said sailor Nicholas Pallitto, a sonar technician, in a statement from the Navy.
