Off-road crash seriously injures man

SNOHOMISH — A man suffered life-threatening injuries in an off-road accident east of here Sunday evening.

A man and a young boy were riding an all-terrain vehicle in the Three Lakes area about 7:30 p.m., Snohomish County Fire District 4 Battalion Chief Mike Gatterman said. The man failed to negotiate the terrain and the riders were thrown from the vehicle.

Fire crews were on their way to another call and arrived in the area moments after the accident happened. The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.

Medics drove the boy to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other details about the victims were immediately available.
