Silvertips’ Rajcic honored by WHL

Everett director of business operations Zoran Rajcic was honored by the WHL Wednesday, winning the league’s Marketing/Public Relations Award at the league’s annual awards luncheon in Edmonton, Alberta.

Rajcic, who has been with the team since before it began play in 2003, was recognized for Everett’s advancements in marketing, game presentation and community efforts. Chief among those was the development of the team’s fan Zamboni, which provides rides for fans during intermissions.

“It’s a true honor for our organization to be recognized by our peers in this league,” Rajcic said in a press release. “It exemplifies the hard work and effort the Silvertips staff puts forth during the season through working with our sponsors, community partners and terrific fans to create a wonderful atmosphere at Comcast Arena.”

Rajcic was the only member of the Silvertips organization to earn an award. Craig Hartsburg finished second to Kootenay’s Mark Holick for Coach of the Year, and captain Zack Dailey finished second to Kootenay’s Matt Fraser for Humanitarian of the Year.

In other awards, Regina’s Jordan Eberle was named the Player of the Year, Red Deer’s Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was named the Rookie of the Year, Calgary’s Martin Jones was named the Goaltender of the Year and Kelowna’s Tyson Barrie was named the Defenseman of the Year.
