Stabbing suspect found hiding in worst part of portable toilet

SNOHOMISH – Here's one more reason crime stinks.

Police found a stabbing suspect this afternoon hiding in the hold of a portable toilet in a Snohomish-area elementary school playground.

A witness saw the man go into the plastic outhouse but didn't see him come out.

Snohomish County sheriff's deputies looked into the toilet and found their man down below, spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

Fire department officials were called to help wash him off before taking him to jail.

The man, 28, is expected to be held for investigation of first-degree assault in connection with a stabbing that sent another man, 30, to a Seattle hospital.

The two men reportedly knew each other. An argument broke out just after 3 p.m. near a condominium complex in the 14200 block of 69th Drive SE in unincorporated Snohomish, Hover said.

Police believe the suspect stabbed the other man in the stomach, Hover said.

The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His condition wasn't immediately available.
