Seniors can Zumba, too, in Snohomish

The Latin-inspired dancercise craze Zumba now comes in Zumba Gold.

That’s the kind of Zumba offered specifically for seniors — those who are physically active but also seniors who might not have exercised for a while or who may have physical limitations.

Zumba Gold will be offered at the Snohomish Senior Center starting in June.

Zumba is an energetic group floor exercise that blends Latin and other international tunes with easy-to-learn dance moves that can be taught by the instructor with simple hand gestures.

A typical Zumba class includes a warm-up, the main routine and a cool-down period.

Zumba Gold begins at 9 a.m. June 2 at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth Ave., Snohomish.

Classes will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Cost is $5 per class for members and $8 for nonmembers.
