4 felony charges in fatal crash

A Bothell woman allegedly killed two people and injured two others while drunk and driving the wrong way.

EVERETT — A Bothell woman was charged with four felonies Thursday in connection with a wrong-way crash on Broadway that ended two lives and left two other people with serious injuries.

Camille A. Spink, 28, told Everett police that she drank three glasses of wine at a friend’s house Feb. 26 before heading north on Broadway. She missed a turn, ignored flashing lights and traffic signs warning that she was driving the wrong way, and slammed head-on into a car carrying four people, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Tobin Darrow said in court papers.

Sheena Blair, 24, and Martin Ramirez, 19, both of Tacoma, were killed in the crash. Two 18-year-old men were injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. They suffered broken bones and required surgery.

Spink smelled of alcohol and was stumbling and swaying at the crash scene. Her blood was drawn at the hospital and a test showed her blood alcohol level at .21 — more than double the legal limit. She also admitted smoking marijuana earlier in the day, which was confirmed by the blood test, Darrow wrote.

The Snohomish County Superior Court charges accuse Spink of two counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault.

She was detained the night of the crash but set free by police within hours, pending the results of tests.

If Spink remains free on personal recognizance as she awaits trial, prosecutors have asked a judge to order her to abstain from alcohol and obey traffic laws.

Spink and her friend were driving to a bar when they crashed. She told police she didn’t know how the collision happened, court papers said.
