Storm’s Bird day-to-day with back spasms

SEATTLE — Seattle Storm guard Sue Bird has back spasms and her availability for Tuesday night’s home game against San Antonio is uncertain.

The team with the WNBA’s best record said Monday that the 29-year-old six-time All-Star’s status will be determined on a day-to-day basis.

Bird got another examination in Seattle following Sunday’s game at Tulsa. She felt low back pain before tipoff and left that win after just 2 minutes.

Storm coach Brian Agler says his team missed the point guard’s calming presence as it fell behind by 13 points before rallying for its 13th victory in 15 games.

The Storm committed a season-high 25 turnovers without Bird.
