Cystic Fibrosis walk

Taking Steps To Cure Cystic Fibrosis is planned for July 17 in Tulalip.

The walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Tulalip Casino and Resort Amphitheatre, 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd.

Money raised benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, helping those with cystic fibrosis, a progressively fatal genetic disease that causes mucus in the body to be abnormally thick and sticky.

It becomes difficult to breathe and digest food.

The three-mile walk is on a flat course. There will be games and activities, lunch, music and a raffle.

Addresses changed: People who live in much of the area that became part of the city of Lake Stevens last winter, and some other areas nearby, have new addresses.

Addresses in the southwestern part of Lake Stevens currently listed as Everett 98205 changed to Lake Stevens 98258.

The U.S. Postal Service will no longer use the 98205 ZIP code because only a small number of people would be left with it after the annexation, according to Diane “Scotty” Swift, community programs planner for the city of Lake Stevens.

The postal service is dividing the remaining 98205 addresses between Lake Stevens 98258 and Everett 98201.

As a result, some people who were not annexed will receive new ZIP codes along with the new Lake Stevens residents. Mail will be automatically forwarded for 12 months following the address change. Still, residents are responsible for notifying potential senders.
