Jay Varady summoned by USA Hockey again

Silvertips associate head coach Jay Varady will once again represent his country, this time as an assistant coach for the United States entry at the U-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in August in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Varady, who's been a member of Everett's coaching staff since day one, has long been involved with USA Hockey. Last winter he served as the video coordinator for the U.S. team that won the gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Varady could be going up against one of his wards at the tournament as Tips defenseman Ryan Murray was invited to try out for Canada's team for the tournament.
