Kathy Moore has joined the board at Housing Hope. She is director of marketing and community relations for The Everett Clinic.
Vikki Strand has joined the board at Housing Hope. She is business development manager at Boeing Employees Credit Union.
Laurie Alsted of Snohomish has been elected to the board of Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County. Cliff Benson was re-elected president. Jeremy DelMar, Lynnwood, will serve as vice president-construction and Peter Harvard, Kenmore, will be vice president-site selection. John Collier, Mukilteo, is treasurer. Kristin Wood and Derek Andrews will continue to serve as board president and vice president-operations.
Randy Hansen of Everett is the new president of the Rotary Club of Everett. He will serve through June 2011. Other new inductees include Bob Leach, vice president; Thomas Koenig, president-elect; Andy Hall, presidential nominee; Kevin Morris, past president; Brad Seltzer, treasurer; Larry O'Donnell, historian; and Bill Dobler, secretary. Members of the board of directors include Amy Norman, Kaye Phinney, Mike Holcomb, Gail Larson, Will McMahan and Edwin Petersen.
Lisa Walker of the University of Washington Bothell has won the year's staff appreciation award. The award was established in 2002 to honor a staff member for outstanding accomplishments or achievements within the institution. Walker was selected for her commitment to her job as administrative assistant in the Office of Advancement and External Relations.
Newly elected board members of the Seattle chapter of the Association for Women in Communications include: Connie Mennie of Stanwood, president; Cathy Stevens of Bothell, vice president of finance; Lin Berryman of Edmonds, secretary; Teresa Wippel of Edmonds, vice president of professional development; and Laura Figueroa of Edmonds, vice president of membership.

Dillon Works of Mukilteo has completed an interpretive sign for a walking path at the Choctaw Capital Building in Tuskahoma, Okla. The fabrication company made 10 8-foot signs with hand-peeled fir poles and sign panels intended to look like tanned hides.
Teo, a Mukilteo telecommunications company, has received government approval for two highly secure Internet Protocol phone models.
Fluke Corporation has been recognized for excellence in product design in the 6th annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine, the leading trade magazine in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration industries.
Good deeds
The YMCA of Snohomish County was presented with $1,000 by Allstate agent Greg Belvill on behalf of the Allstate Foundation. Belvill won the award through his volunteer efforts for the YMCA.
Haggen and Top Food store customers can buy a backpack filled with school supplies for donation to children starting school in the fall. The packs, valued at $23, cost $9.99. They will be distributed by schools and other organizations to children in need.
More than 700 Boeing employees in the Puget Sound region helped Habitat for Humanity build a dozen new homes for families as part of Boeing's first-ever Global Day of Service on Saturday. The day of service serves as the focal point for Boeing's Employee Volunteer Program and is timed to commemorate the company's founding on July 15, 1916.
