It's the matrimony, stupid: Wedding industry experts estimate that between $2 million and $3 million could be spent on the wedding for Chelsea Clinton this Saturday in New York. Among the bigger-ticket items: $750,000 for catering, $250,000 for flowers, $20,000 for the cake and $20,000 for the dress.

Bill, as a fellow FOB (father of the bride), let me just say, I feel your pain. Just not as deeply.



  • At least give them an audition: Fox's "American Idol" now has two seats to fill at its judge's table. In addition to the vacancy left by Simon Cowell, Fox also must replace Ellen DeGeneres, who said the talent show wasn't the right fit for her.

    The floor is now open for nominations. If it's star power, entertainment value and availability Fox is looking for, we'll suggest: Larry King and Mel Gibson.



  • The Institute of Stuff We Already Knew: An Internet research company says it has found that women spend an average of 5.5 hours a month on online social networking sites, such as Facebook, compared to 3.9 hours for men.

    But to be fair, it takes longer to tend your crops in Farmville than it does to "ice" a rival gangster in Mafia Wars.
