CONGRESS

Corporate Larsen needs replacing

Congressman Rick Larsen says he opposes wars but consistently votes for them, including a vote last week.

He supports veterans after they become war casualties.

He voted against cutting funding for an aircraft engine that the Pentagon doesn't even want.

He signed an industry-drafted letter urging the FCC to abandon efforts to protect Internet neutrality, a sell-out to Comcast, Verizon and AT&T.

He voted for 2001 tax cuts that helped set the country on the road to depression.

He is against publicly funded elections, which would give opponents without corporate money a chance to be heard.

He is against disclosure of lobbyist information.

He voted to let profiteering insurance and pharmaceutical corporations control health care.

He voted for "fast track" authority that sent jobs overseas.

He voted for roads and logging in the Tongass National Forest even when timber companies couldn't sell what they cut.

Bellingham's Larry Kalb is the antidote to Larsen's poisonous record of corporate servitude. Please vote for Larry Kalb for U.S. Congress in the August primary and give him a chance in November's general election.
