U.S. 2 reopens after collision

SULTAN — Traffic along U.S. 2 in Sultan was blocked for more than four hours this afternoon after a collision between an RV and SUV, officials said.

Several people were taken to hospitals, but none of the injuries appears to be life-threatening, said Lt. Kathi Lang of the Snohomish County Sheriff''s Office.

Names, ages, hometowns and the extent of injuries were not available today. The accident was reported around 2:10 p.m. and all lanes were reopened a little before 7 p.m.

The rolled over RV blocked the left lane of eastbound U.S. 2 and all lanes of westbound U.S. 2 near Rice Road in Sultan, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Westbound drivers took a detour along Rice Road to Sultan Basin Road and back to U.S. 2 to get around the collision scene.
