Police seek info on homicide victim
Monroe investigators want to talk with anyone who saw Angela Pettifer and her father together on Saturday night.
MONROE -- Investigators are looking for anyone who might have seen Angela Pettifer and her father downtown together Saturday night.
Police found Pettifer's body just after 10 a.m. Sunday. Pettifer, 36, was found strangled in her apartment at the Savoy building on West Main Street.
Officials said Tuesday that the woman was with her father, Thomas "Mike" Pettifer, 60, of Shoreline, in the hours before her death. Mike Pettifer is fully cooperating with the investigation, police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
They released his photograph late Tuesday, hoping more people might remember having seen at least him that night. But they urge anyone who saw either person, together or separate, to call police.
At least one person spotted Angela Pettifer on Saturday night at a restaurant in downtown Monroe, Willis said.
Pettifer's ex-boyfriend told police he visited her apartment to check on her the next morning. He found her unresponsive and called 911.
When police arrived a few minutes later, they determined she was dead.
They did not release information about her death until Tuesday morning. Willis said detectives were waiting for a preliminary cause of death from the medical examiner.
Pettifer lived alone in the downtown apartment. She worked at Red Robin restaurant in Monroe. Restaurant managers declined to comment, but one said he had only positive things to say about her.
The police described Pettifer as a white, 5-feet-6 and with blonde hair. She was wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans.
Police have asked people to call 360-794-6300 if they have more information. Anonymous information also may be left on the department's tip line at 360-863-4600.
