$100 bill getting a makeover

Oh Benjamin, you're changing your look!

The redesigned $100 bill, which goes into circulation in February, features a colorful high-tech look, three-dimensional security ribbon and other features designed to thwart counterfeiting.

Here are some things you probably don't know about those $100 bills, courtesy of the Federal Reserve, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the Secret Service:

Counterfeiters. Overseas, the $100 bill is their favorite, while $20 bills are the top fake bills in the United States.

Circulation. About 6.7 billion $100 bills are in circulation worldwide. About 9.6 billion $1 bills are in circulation and 6.4 billion $20 bills.

Longevity. An individual $100 bill can be passed around for more than seven years. That compares to just 16 months for a $5 bill.
