Suspect sought in robbery, fatal shooting in Everett
A $2 million warrant has been issued for Eric "Icky" Lee Lowe of Marysville, a suspect in an Everett robbery and shooting death.
EVERETT -- A Marysville man is being sought on a $2 million warrant for last week's fatal shooting at a south Everett apartment building.
Investigators allege that Eric "Icky" Lee Lowe, 22, took part in a robbery at the Bluffs Apartments that left one man dead and another with head injuries.
Detectives have been hunting for Lowe since the incident and believe he is on the run.
Investigators Friday released a photograph of Lowe. He allegedly has ties to a gang in the Everett area, Snohomish County Deputy Prosecutor Chris Dickinson wrote in court papers.
Dickinson charged Lowe in Snohomish County Superior Court on Friday with first-degree murder. A judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
Matalepuna "June Bug" Malu also was charged Friday with first-degree murder. He was arrested Wednesday and is being held on $2 million bail.
Lowe and Malu are accused of breaking into an apartment Aug. 13 and beating Alonzo "Ocho" Lopez-Gonzalez. The 22-year-old man was then shot in the back after he either was pushed off a second-story balcony or jumped in an attempt to escape his attackers.
A witness told investigators that three hours before the ambush, Lowe was yelling in a parking lot about his plans to rob Lopez-Gonzalez. The slain man was an alleged heroin dealer who was known to keep large amounts of cash in his apartment, witnesses told police. The day before the robbery he reportedly sold heroin to Malu.
Once inside the apartment Lowe and Malu reportedly confronted Lopez-Gonzalez about selling Malu "bad dope," according to court papers.
They demanded their money back and forced him to open a closet where he kept a safe full of cash, court papers said.
After the safe was open, they allegedly dragged Lopez-Gonzalez onto the apartment balcony.
"At that time, they either pushed (him) off of the second-story terrace or he jumped in an effort to escape," police wrote in court papers.
On the night of the slaying Lowe was seen covered in blood and carrying a gun in a bag, Dickinson wrote.
Lowe is a felon with recent convictions for drug possession and illegal gun possession. He was charged in March with burglary after allegedly breaking into a home. The homeowner interrupted the burglary and the suspect fled.
Lowe is white, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Detectives also are looking for Jeffrey Scott Cleator Jr., 25, whom police say they want to speak with about the killing. Police are not calling him a suspect.
Investigators say Lowe and Cleator should be considered armed and dangerous. The public is warned not to try to apprehend them. Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the police tip line at 425-257-8450.
