Plan your visit to the Evergreen State Fair

Ticket prices

General admission:

  • Adults, 16-61, $10.


  • Senior citizens, 62-89, $7

    90 and older, free

    Youth, 6-15, $7.

    Kids under 5 free

    Parking

    $8 weekdays; $10 weekends, no re-entry.

    How to get there

    The Evergreen State Fairgrounds are at 14405 179th Ave. SE in Monroe, 14 miles east of Everett, on U.S. 2 and about 30 miles northeast of Seattle via I-405 and Highway 522.

    Community Transit Routes 270, 271 and 275 will serve a special stop near the west entrance of the fairgrounds with service between Everett and Monroe every 30 to 60 minutes. Schedules for each route are available onboard buses or at www.communitytransit.org. No service Sundays or Labor Day.

    Regular fair hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Carnival hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

    Opening day. Free admission until 1 p.m. Come in time for the opening ceremony at 2 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage. Sign up for the bubble gum blowing contest at 3 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage. Don't miss the fireworks at 9 p.m. at the Grandstand.

    Kids fare: Make a veggie critter from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Snohomish County Agriculture Display.

    Veggie arts day. Watch the 4-H tractor driving contest at 8 a.m. at the Outdoor Ring of the Evergreen Equestrian Park. Get some adrenaline at the Extreme Monster Truck Show, set for 7 p.m. at the Grandstand. Support talent at the Evergeen Idol semi-finals at 7:30 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    Kids fare: Learn about dinosaurs at the Days of the Dinosaurs exhibit, all day. $5 adults, $3 youth.

    Agriculture Day. Start the day at the Monroe Fair Parade, scheduled to start at 11 a.m. in downtown Monroe. Check out the International Lumberjack show at noon, 4 p.m. or 7 p.m. Watch the 4-H Beef Cow Olympics at 6 p.m. at the Beef Judging Arena.

    Kids fare: For kids and kids at heart, J.P. Patches performs at 2 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    Fiesta Sunday. Stop by the Comcast Courtyard Stage for a series of themed events, including New Age Flamenco at 10:30 a.m. and Mexican folk dancing at noon. Don't forget the annual Salsa contest at 1 p.m. at the Snohomish County Agriculture Display. Watch the bands Magazine and Los Lobos perform at the Grandstand starting at 7 p.m.

    Kids fare: Check out the 4-H swine costume class at 5 p.m. in the Swine Arena.

    Senior Citizen's Day. People 62 and older get in free.

    Catch a show by the Aztec Indian Dancers at 2 p.m. or 8 p.m. Enjoy a performance by the Moonlight Swing Orchestra 7 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage. Pay tribute to members of the military and first responders at a special concert scheduled for 7:45 p.m. at the Grandstand.

    Kids fare: Check out the 4-H artistic jump-rope contest and activity, 7 p.m. at the 4-H Building.

    Twosday Tuesday. Get in for $2 before 2 p.m. Don't miss the cheesecake contest at 1 p.m. at the Snohomish County Agriculture Display. The 4-H cupcake decoration contest also takes place at 1 p.m. at the 4-H Building. See a variety show by the Applause Dance Studio at 6:45 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    Kids fare: Don't forget the daily petting farm, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Family Day. Family ticket $28. Learn to make ice cream at 1 p.m. at the Snohomish County Agriculture Display. Find out who won the Evergreen Idol contest at 7 p.m. at the Grandstand. Rock out during the open mic and karaoke at 8:45 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    Kids fare: Watch the 4-H costume and bonnet parade, 7 p.m. at the 4-H Building

    @sub:Sept. 2, Thursday

    Kid's day. Children younger than 15 get in free. Head to the Comcast Courtyard Stage for a series of performances for kids: the Reptile Man is at 11:30 a.m., and kids' karaoke is at 4:30 p.m. Go to the draft horse and mule extravaganza at 5 p.m. at the Arena. Sign up for the pie eating contest at 3 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    Kids fare: Attend the Wonderland Tea Party, a children's comedy performance by the Zambini Bros, at 2: 15 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    @sub:Sept. 3, Friday

    Armed Forces Day. Military and emergency services personnel get in for $5 with proper identification. Don't miss the daily all-Alaskan pig races, at 11 a.m., 1:30, 3 and 6 p.m. The Armed Forces Day Ceremony is planned for 2 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage. See 4-H archery demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Outdoor Ring of the Evergreen Equestrian Park.

    Kids fare: See cool tricks at the 4-H dog tricks contest, planned for 2 p.m. at the Dog Barn and Show Rings.

    @sub:Sept. 4, Saturday

    Rodeo Day. The Pro-West Rodeo show is at 7 p.m. at the Arena. Buy the tickets 2 hours before at the Arena box office.

    Stomp some grapes at noon at the Snohomish County Agriculture Display. Head to the Evergreen Speedway for Nascar Night at 7 p.m. The event is paid.

    Kids fare: Find a Quarter in the Haystack. The contest takes place at the Petting Farm three times: at 11 a.m. for ages 4 and 5; at 2:30 p.m. for ages 6 and 7; and at 4:30 p.m. for ages 8 through 10.

    Demo Derby Day. Watch the Demolition Derby and fireworks show at 7 p.m. at the Grandstand. Take part in the ice cream construction contest at 1 p.m. at the Snohomish County Agriculture Display. Show your skills in the Frisbee throwing contest at 4:30 p.m. at the Judging Arena.

    Kids fare: Catch a comedy, magic and circus arts show. Eric Haines will be at the fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Comedy, stilts, juggling. Steve the Pretty Good will be at the fair from noon to 5 p.m. Comedy magic.

    @sub:Sept. 6, Monday

    Play Labor Day. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Carnival hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Discounts on tickets for everyone. See the tiniest horses between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Covered Arena. Cheer for your baby at the Baby Diaper Derby Contest, at 2:45 and 3 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage. Congratulate the winners during the 4-H awards ceremony planned for 4:30 p.m. at the Comcast Courtyard Stage.

    Kids fare: Visit the interactive museum open daily at the Western Heritage Center, all day.
