Money's in the bag




Paper or canvas? Edmonds' ban on plastic bags goes into effect on Friday. With a few exceptions, it will be illegal for shops to put groceries and other goods in a plastic bag, meaning customers will be encouraged to bring their own bags. Businesses that violate the law face a $100 fine for the first offense and $250 fine for subsequent violations.

However, violators can still choose between paper and plastic to pay their fines.
