Woman killed in crash near Arlington

ARLINGTON -- A woman was killed this afternoon in a two-car accident on 67th Avenue just south of Arlington city limits.

Around 2:40 p.m., Arlington firefighters responded to the crash just north of 152nd Street. They were unable to revive the woman, who was driving one of the vehicles.

A man who was driving a pickup was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with serious injuries.

The accident occurred on a two-lane county road with no shoulders, near a new driveway to a Centennial Trail parking area. As of 5 p.m. the road remained blocked.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash. The drivers' ages and hometowns were not immediately available.
