Business Book Recommendation: "The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism"
"The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism," by Naomi Klein. Recommended by Michael Hoffmann, Port of Everett commission chairman.
"It looks at the free market capitalism of the '70s and how it's incorporated into the system we have today," Hoffmann said. "It looks at how the capital markets responded to input from disasters."
Hoffmann said the book has helped him understand the global economy and provided perspective for the modern-day economic system.
