Missing teen now considered a runaway
EDMONDS -- Police don't suspect foul play in the disappearance of a missing teenage girl.
Jennifer Lynn Blackstock, 17, of Edmonds, has been missing since Aug. 26.
Tips from the public led Edmonds police to a Mukilteo motel Wednesday night, where they just missed the teen, Sgt. Mike Blackburn said today.
They believe Blackstock was staying at the hotel with an Edmonds man, 19, but she took off as officers approached.
The man was interviewed but not arrested. Police aren't sure how Blackstock knew the man.
"He wasn't completely forthright about that issue," Blackburn said.
Police are now considering Blackstock a juvenile runaway. The investigation is ongoing.
