Man arrested after public disrobing
EDMONDS -- Police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon after he apparently stripped down in public after backing his car into a pole.
Witnesses told police they saw the man, 25, leave an auto dealership in the 22000 block on Highway 99 just after 2:30 p.m. He wasn't wearing shoes and socks. He then disrobed before curling into a fetal position on the ground.
By the time police arrived, the naked man had climbed back into his 2008 Dodge Magnum, Sgt. Mike Blackburn said Wednesday.
Police believe the man's car and driver's license are from Texas, but he may have been living in Mountlake Terrace.
"We don't know what his reasoning was for stopping there," Blackburn said.
The man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. He was released around 5 p.m. Wednesday and taken to Snohomish County Jail for investigation of disorderly conduct and indecent exposure.
The investigation is ongoing. The car and the building didn't appear to have sustained much damage.
