OUTDOOR PICK OF THE WEEK | Edmonds Coho Derby

Still a few tickets left for the limited-entry Edmonds Coho Derby, sponsored by the SnoKing Chapter, Puget Sound Anglers, and scheduled to run Saturday for a really nice first-place cash prize of $5,000. The derby is based at the Port of Edmonds Marina, but there will be a second weigh station at Bayside Marine in Everett, adjacent to the south side of the Port of Everett launch facility. Participants in the Edmonds derby will also qualify for the drawing Sept. 19, at the conclusion of the Everett derby, for the $60,000 StabiCraft boat package offered through the Northwest Salmon Derby Series of the Northwest Marine Trade Association.

Tickets are $30, available at Bayside Marine in Everett, Ted's Sport Center and Ed's Surplus in Lynnwood, All Seasons Charters in Edmonds, Three Rivers Marine in Woodinville, Outdoor Emporium in Seattle, and Sportco in Fife.

Proceeds from the derby help fund youth fishing events, the derby for the blind, the South County Senior Center, and the hatchery in Edmonds, among other programs.
